Resparse is a Chromium browser extension that keeps a parsed copy of your CV on hand while you fill out job applications. This page explains, in full, what that involves.
Everything stays on your device. Resparse has no server of its own - there is nowhere for your data to go, even if it wanted to.
The one exception is a feature you turn on yourself: if you connect your own API key from Google Gemini, Groq, or OpenRouter to use the AI assistant, the text you're actively working with gets sent directly to that provider, using your own account, only for the request you just made.
Nothing is sold. Nothing is tracked. There's no account to create.
Resparse is a browser extension for Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, and similar). You upload or paste in your CV once; Resparse reads it and lets you insert your own information - or, optionally, an AI-drafted answer - into a form field on any job application page with one click, instead of retyping the same details every time.
This policy covers the extension itself: what it reads, what it stores, and the only two circumstances under which any of that leaves your device.

Resparse also reads certain content from the page you have open in order to work at all: the label and surrounding text of the form field you've focused, and, only when you explicitly attach it, the job description text on that page. This is used to fill in a field or draft an answer; it is not logged, stored elsewhere, or used for anything beyond that immediate action.
On this device only
Everything in the table above is stored using your browser's own local storage (chrome.storage.local) and local database (IndexedDB) - the same mechanisms any browser extension uses to remember state between sessions. Resparse does not operate a server, a database, or any backend of its own. There is nowhere for this data to be collected centrally, because nothing is set up to collect it.
This storage is not encrypted by Chrome (extensions don't have access to an OS-level keychain), the same way most locally-stored browser data isn't. It never leaves your device on its own.
There is exactly one circumstance: you've connected your own API key for an AI provider (Google Gemini, Groq, or OpenRouter) and you ask the AI assistant a question.
When that happens, the relevant parts of your CV - and, if you've attached one, the job description - are sent directly from your browser to that provider's own API, using your own account and your own key. Resparse is not a party to that request beyond making it on your behalf; the provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle it from there.
This only happens when you actively ask the assistant something. It does not happen in the background, on a schedule, or for any part of Resparse you're not using.
Resparse also includes a separate, optional mode that runs an open-source language model entirely on your own device, with no API key and no account. Turning this on downloads that model's files from its own public host - not a Resparse server - the first time you use it. Once downloaded, your CV and questions never leave your device for this mode at all; the model runs locally, the same way a video plays locally once it's downloaded.
You can delete an individual CV, remove a connected AI provider's key, or clear an AI conversation at any time from within the extension. A dedicated "erase all data" action removes everything Resparse has stored in one step. Uninstalling the extension removes all of it as well, since nothing exists outside your browser profile to begin with.
Resparse is a job-application tool and isn't directed at children. It isn't designed to, and does not knowingly, collect information from anyone under 13.
